Deals | Leveraging WeChat Mini Program, MeowCard Secures Investment from Vertex Ventures and Matrix Partners

MeowCard, a WeChat Mini Program-based social networking tool for cat lovers, has completed an angel round from Matrix Partners China and Vertex Ventures China.

Using the Mini Program, cat owners can post cat photos and even get a coded ID card for their pet. Onlookers can feed cats with virtual cat food. There are also features, such as the daily ranking, to build communities.

“We will use the funding to improve our product and user experience. The team is working on a Facebook timeline-like tool which allows users to share moments with their cats,” said MeowCard founder Larry, “At the same time, we seek to explore the opportunities in vertical e-commerce platform and communities of cat lovers, potentially branching out into other verticals such as entertainment and female lifestyle.”
